Friday, September 20th, was the annual Western BBQ at school. You were really excited this year because they were having a contest for dressing up western. You looked so cute in your western outfit, but unfortunately didn’t win 🙁 We still had fun though! Avi and Alec came with us, and you also played with Alex and other friends while we were there. And, to make the night even better, I won the 50/50 raffle and got to take home $140!
Mochi!!
We got Mochi on 9/7/19 as an early birthday present for you. Mochi is a Neva-Masquerade (half Siamese, half Siberian) kitten and is currently 5 months old. He’s a bit scrawny, but makes up for size with his personality. He’s such a wild, and also very loving, kitten. You love him so much! He is your first fur-baby 🙂 He loves to sleep with you, and us, and also loves to wake everyone up at 3am by jumping on your head and purring VERY loudly directly in your ear. He is super fluffy and always looks like he has just been electrocuted. LOL. You lovingly refer to him as “Mighty button-nose warrior”, “Sesame nose”, “Pusso face”, and several other nicknames I can’t remember right now.
Alameda County Art Fair – 2nd Place!
Last year in 1st grade, you made a painting for a class project. We learned after you made it, that it was going to be submitted to the art contest at the Alameda County Fair! The Fair was about 2 months ago, in June & July. Just a few days ago you brought it home, and we learned that you won 2nd place! That is so amazing! 2nd place overall for kids your age, and that was from hundreds of entries. Your painting was “Mondrian style”, which is based off of the Dutch painter Piet Mondrian. Mondrian is a very famous painter who is known for his intersecting lines at right angles and planes in primary colors, and also helped influence what we now call “Abstract Art”.
I am so proud of you! You are so creative and intelligent!
Labor Day Fun!
This Labor Day, September 2nd 2019, was a fun one for you! Yesterday (Sunday) we had Avi and Alec come over to play and go swimming. Harris came too! Then when it was time to leave, Alec really wanted you to come to his house, so you ended up having a sleepover at their house. Tara brought all of you back to our house around 10am Today (Monday), and we all went swimming again. And then, guess what… You are back at their house right now while I’m typing this for another sleepover. Normally I would not approve a sleepover on a school night, however, you were extremely diligent about getting your homework done yesterday, and you have been *such* a good girl lately, so a special treat was in order 🙂
iFly Indoor Skydiving!
On Saturday, August 24th, 2019, we went indoor skydiving! Well, YOU went indoor skydiving 🙂 I got to watch you fly, which was equally as fun.
You have told me for a long time that one of your only dreams and wishes is that you can fly. Unfortunately I can’t make that happen for you, so I figured this was the next best thing that I could make happen for you! You were a little scared at first, but very brave and went through the entire process without me in the room. I could see you the entire time, and vice versa. You had so much fun that we bought a bunch of extra passes and are going back on Sunday, September 8th!
